Stephen Chandler

Stephen is the managing partner at Notion; he co-founded the firm in 2009 and sits on the boards of IOCS, Mojn, SelfNet and Tradeshift within Notion’s portfolio. He also leads the firm’s fundraising activities.

Stephen is an entrepreneur, investor and company builder, with 20 years experience in forming, funding, running, advising and investing in technology businesses. A co-founder of over ten businesses with involvement in dozens more, he has helped a number of leading tech companies to develop and execute winning market strategies, either as an external professional advisor, a non-executive director or as a member of their senior leadership team.

Stephen began his career at Deloitte and moved on to UBS Investment Bank in 1995 where he advised a number of the world’s leading technology and telecoms businesses on capital raisings and M&A activity. In 2000 he joined MessageLabs Group serving as CFO of Star until 2004 and MessageLabs until 2009. At MessageLabs Stephen held various senior executive roles including CFO and President-EMEA. During his tenure he led the business through a number of fundraisings, acquisitions and disposals culminating in the sale to Symantec for $700m in 2008. Stephen holds an honours degree in Economics from the University of Exeter and is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Securities Institute.
