Jos is a founding partner at Notion and, together with his general fund responsibilities, specialises in strategy, marketing and communications within portfolio companies.

Jos has co-founded three businesses helping to grow them all into market leaders each with revenues in excess of $100M.

In 1993 Jos co-founded RBR Networks, an IT distributor that specialised in Cisco. By 1998 RBR had become Cisco's largest distributor in Europe, with revenues in excess of $160M, and towards the end of that year was acquired by Datatec leading to significant wealth creation for its founders.

At the same time Jos and Ben founded Star Internet in 1995 as one of the UK’s first ISPs. Jos served as Star's Chief Marketing Officer responsible for company strategy and all aspects of marketing. Star is now well established as one of the UK's largest ISPs and has evolved into a more broad-based communications company as it takes advantage of the convergence between voice, data and Internet.

In 2000 Jos and Ben co-founded MessageLabs where Jos served as the Chief Marketing Officer responsible for both the marketing and product groups. In 2003 Jos moved to New York as President of the US region, which rapidly grew into the company’s largest market, making MessageLabs one of the few UK based technology companies to succeed in the US.

MessageLabs became established as the market leader for messaging and web security services and a company at the forefront of the exploding Software as a Service (“SaaS”) industry. Towards the end of 2008 MessageLabs was acquired by Symantec for approximately $700M, marking the second largest transaction for a private company in the history of the IT security industry. Upon completion of the acquisition Jos stepped down from the MessageLabs board and is devoting his time to Notion Capital and other interests.

Jos is a well known entrepreneur and marketer in the UK and the US. He has spoken at numerous industry events and appeared on both TV and radio including BBC, CNBC, NBC and ITV on subjects that range from Internet security, to marketing and brand strategies through to building a business in the US.

Jos received a BA honours degree in English Literature from London University and divides his time between New York and London.
